| On
a jeep ride with friends in the high country of the Sierra mountain
range near Kennedy Meadows, I found a handful of obsidian shards
left generations ago by Miwoks making arrowheads. Nearby, we also
found an abandoned, high tech, aluminum arrow. The juxtaposition of
these two examples of ancient weaponry, one old, one new, collided
in my mind and this mask emerged.
